What We Believe

Sunday - 11AM Worship Service | Wednesday - 7PM BIBLE STUDY

The Holy Scriptures - We believe the Scriptures, both Old and New Testaments, written by the holy men divinely inspired by God, to be the basis of our faith and conduct. (II Timothy 3:16-17, II Peter 1:23 & 21)

Godhead - There is but one true God eternally existent in three persons: God the Father, God the Son, and God the Holy Ghost. (St. Matthew 28:19, II Corinthians 13:14)

The Deity of Jesus Christ our Lord - We believe Jesus Christ is the only begotten Son of God, born of a virgin, lived a sinless life, and performed many miracles. Jesus Christ died on the Cross for our sins, was buried, rose on the third day and is presently on the right hand of the Father. (St. Luke 1:26-37, I Peter 2:21-25, Acts 10:38-41, I Corinthians 15:3 & 4, Acts 2:29-33)

Redemption - Salvation - We believe salvation can only be obtained through Jesus Christ. It is only through His shed blood that we have forgiveness of sins. This salvation is a free gift by the grace of God to all who accept Jesus Christ into their lives and turn from the life of sin. (Ephesians 2:8 & 9, Titus 2:11-14)

The Blessed Hope - We believe in Jesus Christ's personal future return to this earth in power and glory to rule a thousand years (Revelations 20:4) We believe in the Blessed Hope…the catching away of the Church at Christ's return. (I Thessalonians 4:16 & 17, St. John 5:24, St. Matthew 24:30 & 31)

Ordinances - Baptism - We believe in the baptism by immersion when a person has accepted Jesus Christ into their heart and life is commanded in God's Holy Scriptures. By doing so this, all candidates for baptism are proclaiming to the world that they have died to self and are now raised in newness of life with Christ. (Romans 6:3-11, Acts 2:38)

Holy Communion - We believe that in partaking of the Lord's Supper…Unleavened bread and the fruit of the vine…we hold in remembrance Jesus Christ's suffering, death, and His promised return (I Corinthians 11:23-27)

Fasting - We believe in fasting when it is done in accordance with God's Word. (Isaiah 58:4-6, St. Matthew 6:16-18)

Fellowship - We believe in the importance of regular church fellowship. (Hebrews 10:24, 25)

Praise - we believe in praising God at all times. (Psalms 81:1-3; 100; 119:169)

Prayer - We believe in the effectual fervent prayer of the righteous. (St. Luke 18:1, James 5:16)

Sanctification - We believe in the necessity of sanctification in our Christian walk. (I Corinthians 3:16-17; 6:11,
Romans 12:1-2)

Tithing - We believe in tithing as taught in God's Holy Word. (Malachi 3:8-12)

Baptism in the Holy Ghost - We believe all believers should seek this baptism which we are entitled to; the Baptism in the Holy Ghost empowers the believer for ministry, a greater fullness of the Spirit of God, and deeper respect for God and His Word. (Acts 1:4-8; 2:1-4, Joel 2:28-29)
